So What! Wednesday

Photobucket
Come on already, join me in some So what! Wednesday at Life After I "Dew". It helps to get some stuff off your chest and read other people with some freaky quirky tendencies that we have all grown to love, or at least be okay with.

So what if:
-Pinterest has become my new Facebook. I no longer care that "my baby ate peas! Here look at this picture of him with green poop on his shirt!" These posts seem to flood my facebook feed and nowadays I now would rather stalk people's recipe's and style.

-I have about 1402394098niner recipe pins on Pinterest and I have made 1. That one was delicious though. Lemon muddy buddies you have my heart. And don't make me feel as guilty eating a stick of butter because you taste fresh and healthy!

-I'm dying for fall to get here so I can wear boots and tights. That's my favorite attire. Until Spring comes, and then I crave flip flops and shorts again.

-If I picked Isabelle's Halloween costume MONTHS ago. I picked her first halloween costume before I even knew she was a girl...and it was glorious.

Lobster Anyone? Am I right or am I right...There is nothing cuter than kids in costume. Or men dressed as chefs.

What she's into

I am a little behind in this, but I love the idea of keeping a record of everything Isabelle is "into" at a year old. I tried to do this in her baby book and I lasted 3 months. Mother of the year right here! So, this is going to be a baby book for her. The best baby book ever...because honestly, who cares about the first haircut? Oh, you do? Well sorry, but my baby rocks a mullet so we don't need haircuts.

One Year

Loves:
Dora the Explorer
Eating breakfast as soon as she wakes up
Pushing her car up and down our driveway
Puppies. Any kind of dog get's this girl screaming
Dancing
Her baby sign (she'll wear you out with "more" and "all done")
Fake laughing
Fake crying
Bread
Mommy's earrings "Pretties"
Chugging Gatorade
Seeing Daddy's truck come home
Picking up sticks
Anything her cousins do
Waving "HI" and "BYE"
Bath time
Airplanes
Birds
Reading books while sitting on mommy or daddy's lap
Playing fetch
Running
Her Pacifier "Nuk"
Going to the park
Yogurt night
Looking at herself in the mirror (Such a girl)
Picking flowers for mommy

Not so much Loves:
Getting out of the bath
Diaper changes
Changing clothes
Someone bothering her when she's pooping (Who does like that though?)
Yelling
Any loud noises
"The Map" from Dora the Explorer
Coming inside after being outside
Riding in the car
Nap time/ bed time
Being rushed (her and her daddy live on "Texas time")
Random people that try and pick her up

It's amazing to me how quickly her preferences can change and it's weird to think that in a few short months she will "Love" something else and "not really love" something that she likes now. Sad, but I guess it would be weird if she went to college watching Dora the Explorer with her pacifier and still wanted to sit on mom and dads lap to read a book. (I'm not going to lie though, I wouldn't be sad about that last part).

Whirlwind Weekend!

On Friday, Mr. T left to go do a little bit of this:

While we stayed home to do a little of this:
Yup, that's a picture of Isabelle and her little buddy, plus our two dogs riding in my car. We got a call that we had a showing for our house on Friday so we had to load up and move our party to my mom's house. Quite the crew we have right?

Mr. T went on a much needed fishing trip with his dad while us girls stayed home and played in the awesome weather we have been having. Since we had a few showings and an open house on Sunday, Isabelle and I just stayed the weekend at my parents house. I don't know why I used to complain about living with my parents..why would you ever complain about free room and board, no bills, and a live in maid/nanny? It was an awesome weekend.

My parents live on an acre and a half so our dogs love it out there just as much as we do. Isabelle's favorite thing to do is find sticks to give to Spike. She will search for the perfect stick and then bring it to him for him to chew on while he just sits there like a king, waiting for the tiny pink lady to bring him more toys. Tough life.

My parents live out of city limits and more in the country than us city folk. I got up early to run (like usual), but instead of seeing the same houses over and over, I saw this:
It takes them about 30 minutes to drive anywhere in town, which to me would be annoying. But then when you are out there and there are no cars that whiz by, no sirens in the middle of the day, and no crazy neighbors (whole other story for ya there), you realize how quiet and relaxing the country really is.

Saturday was a day with Papa. We woke up and ran together and then went to Starbucks for some Pumpkin Spice Latte (or as most people call it Punkin Spice) and then went to the plant nursery to run around and get some things for the yard which wore the little lady out for most of the day.
On Sunday after church my nephew Isaac came home with us to play with Izzy, which is probably the cutest thing in the world to see. He is a BIG kid for his age, but when he plays with Isabelle, he becomes a gentle giant. They played tag together, hide and seek and laughed at each others funny faces. Isabelle is an independent woman that doesn't love to hold hands with anyone, but she doesn't  mind loving on her cousin.

How stinkin cute are they? Yeah, melts my heart every time.

So What! Wednesday

Today I am linking up with Shannon over at Life after I "Dew" for a little So what! Wednesday. If you haven't linked up, you should. It makes you feel better about the randomness that goes on in your life.

So what if:
-I have read 5 of the Harry Potter's in a little over a month. I have yet to see any of the movies because I love the books so much and I don't want to be disappointed in how crappy the movie is.(ex: The Help, The Twilight series, and any John Grisham novel. Not an Example: Water for Elephants. Loved the book. Loved the movie).

-I love Teen Mom and I am really pulling for Catelynn and Tyler make it. They're really cute to me. What's not cute to me? Ferris' attitude.

-Since I found out I got into the Boston Marathon I have basically quit running. I know that training is going to be a bia in January so I am kind of saving up for that. Plus is really dark early in the mornings and I get scared!

-I chuckle a little each time someone writes on my wall or sends me a message on Facebook, but then when we see each other in real life we avoid each other like the plague. Is it just me or has Facebook made social interaction awkward. "Hi! What are you doing nowadays? Oh you're moving? yeah I knew that from Facebook. Oh you've had a baby?! Yeah, I saw that on Facebook too." Basically there is no point in catching up anymore because we're all already caught up with everyone from Facebook.

-I get really annoyed when couples post gushy stuff on each others Facebook walls. If you love each other keep that stuff private. If you are so "in love" then you probably have their phone number. Call them. Or text them if social interaction makes you awkward because of Facebook.

-If Mr. T and I watch old episodes of Friends (obviously they're old, Duh!) and still laugh out loud at them. I can recite most of the lines, but they are still hilarious to me. Oh, Chandler Bing, you get me every time!

We're Expecting....

a Lululemon here in town!!

What did you think I meant by we're expecting?

That's right. God's gift to workout gear is coming to Oklahoma which means two things: I am going to be so happy when I'm working out (oh, who am I kidding? I live in workout gear. I seriously wear it every day. It makes me feel like I'm a workout-aholic/ supermom when in reality, I'm just lazy and hate getting dressed. Sue me.) and I'm going to be so poor. If you have walked in the store you would realize that the stuff is not cheap. By not cheap I mean like $60 buckaroos for a tank top.

Now I am no snob when it comes to fashion. I usually only wear stuff from Forever 21 and Target (even though I think I am aging out of Forever 21. A t-shirt that says, "Your boyfriend thinks I'm cute." is not cute on a married lady with a baby) but when I was preggo I drank the Lululemonade and never went back to cheap workout gear.

The stuff doesn't rub, doesn't stink after you wear it, fits a little long so you don't feel like your jiggling out everywhere, and has little frilly feminine touches on it so you don't feel like a butch lady when you're working out.

This Tonya Harding doesn't need a crowbar. Maybe some Lululemon would make her feel pretty though...just a thought.

Geez Anna. You seriously should try to clean yourself up a bit.
I would post a picture of me wearing the gear, but posting a picture of myself right underneath a Kournikova picture just sounds dumb.

You know what's not dumb though?? Pictures of my little monkey going for a jog. Kournikova's got nothing on her.

Don't worry about it, she's staying hydrated.

That mom?!

When did I become "that mom"? I asked myself that question about a gazillion times this weekend. Since we are selling our house,  that means we have to de-personalize and make all of the colors in our house neutral. I have come to the conclusion that the word "neutral" really means snooze fest. Our entire house is in earth tones except for Isabelle's room. We had fun decorating it. When I first found out I was having a baby girl, I was so excited to paint her room BRIGHT PINK. Yes, I have heard soft colors are more calming to babies and blah blah blah, but I knew my baby would come out a little pistol. I was correct. Hello motherly instincts! So we painted her room very pink. We also had Mr. T's amazing artist grandma paint a tree in her room to give it a little personal touch. The room was perfect. We brought Isabelle home to this room, rocked her to sleep in it, read to her, played with her in it and now she loves to look at her birds hanging from a tree branch (we hung that instead of a mobile) and yell "bud! bud!" and then my heart melts.

Bed and "buds!"
The first time our realtor walked in her room, he stated that it would be best to make the room feel bigger and a "neutral" (there's that stupid word again) color. I knew that was coming. I knew the first time we painted her room pink that we would have to paint the room again when we decided to sell it. So I told myself it would be easy and I would be excited to paint her next room in our new house.

The last picture I took before covering up her tree
On Saturday, I got my run in, drank my coffee, put my Pandora radio on Adele  and started painting.
Everything was going smoothly until I got to the tree. I started to panic a little and felt something warm in my eyes and also felt my throat starting to get a knot in it. What the heck is this feeling? No way am I about to cry. I don't cry in situations like this. No one is dying, it's just a stupid tree made of paint.

The start of the Sad Saturday paint day

That's when I realized I was "that mom". I immediately told Mr. T that I needed to find a hobby because I was losing my mind. I always laughed at the moms that got all sentimental at the smallest changes (hey mom! sorry for laughing at you...I thought you were a big cry baby, but now I have turned into a monster wimp). I immediately changed the radio station off the sad break up songs and put on some Britney Spears radio. Nothing screams less of a "that mom" than Britney Spears right?
Boring finished product.

When does this lameness stop? Ever? I know it will come and go when they get older, but I just hope I don't cry every time we paint. That's just weird.

I'll order my Prozac now.

Wild Weather

This week has been quite the week here in Oklahoma for weather. When we woke up on Monday and Tuesday, our city looked like it was on fire. The news told us not to panic, but a controlled fire 100 miles away was causing all of the smoke that was laying over our city. Since the air was so still and dry, it was perfect conditions for the smoke to just rest over our city. It was so freaky looking!

Source
It was 102 on Monday and 104 on Tuesday which made for another day where we thought the summer was never going to end. Then Thursday happened. There was a high of 60 degrees, but if felt colder than that because it was drizzling and cloudy all day. When you drop 40 degrees in less than 48 hours your body feels like you are playing a practical joke. I immediately get tired and achy feeling. I HATE the drastic change in weather, but I'm pretty sure that's just one of the ol' perks of livin' in the A-OK state.

Our Fall/Winter attire that we pulled out to play outside
Isabelle loves the weather because our dogs have this extra little kick of energy so they spring around the yard like their tails are on fire. She loooves that.
Sad part about selling your house during this time of year....I can't decorate my house in Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas stuff! How depressing is that?!?! I just realized it when I went into Hobby Lobby yesterday to find their festive things out. I was so close to buying some and then realized that I would only be able to buy it and put it in storage. I know that when Christmas comes, I will not be able to resist decorating, but hopefully by then we will have our house sold. Any lookers?

Have a good weekend!
