I started this blog so that I could document our hectic life. The good, the bad, and the parts that most people want to hide. I do it all because, let's be honest, that's what life is all about.
The uglies make the goodies look better.
We moved into our dream home.
Everything fits perfectly. The neighborhood is perfect and the move was pretty seamless (the goodies).
Then, the downstairs air conditioning went out and it would take almost a week to get it fixed(the uglies). Psh, first world problems right? Right. Sure, we are having record breaking heat here, but we DO get a break when we come inside and we DO have a neighborhood pool we can swim in to get all our cabin fever energy out.
We are so fortunate to have an upstairs with a functioning air conditioning and a sleeper couch that we could camp out in. Our cable hadn't been installed yet so we rented Red box movies for 3 nights straight (Mr. T and I are soooo not movie people). We saw two of the worst movies I've ever seen, but then we redeemed our movie choice with, "We bought a Zoo." I loved it. I generally hate animal movies, but this was the exception. It was awesome.
It was nice to cuddle up in OUR OWN house and not be staying at my parents' house. We feel blessed to have family that doesn't drive us up the walls (too often) that is welcoming when we come to stay during the moving process, but we are happy to cuddle in bed and eat popcorn and walk around in our undies, because let's be honest, that is ALSO what life is all about.
So we have been getting settled in our new little life, in a new part of town. We traded in the urban life for the suburbia life. I was nervous to make the transition, but I have learned that I am pretty much a "suburbian" now. I want my baby(s) to grow up with young kids to play around with, I want to be able to walk them to school to walk to the park and not be afraid of our weirdo neighbors. It's a new transition for us, but so far, it's been great.
My goal in blogging was to journal ALL the aspects in our life and I have let the "busyness" of life get in the way of that. So, I'm sorry. I'm going to try harder to blog more often so I don't forget all of life's little pleasures....even if they are disguising themselves as "uglies".
So this is my pledge/attempt to being held accountable for writing more often because A LOT is going on in our lives right now that I can't wait to share.
And eventually, I will try not to be the worst blogger in the world.

You are NOT a bad blogger. You're a busy mom. There's a big difference. I'm so glad you're happy in your new place where you can adopt my motto (the best pants is no pants)! Once things settled down a bit let's get that drink.
My sis has a 16 month old little boy who would love a play date if you and your wee one want some new friends. :)
