Happy Fathers Day!

Daddy, thank you for:
Making my bananas just right
Sneaking me cookies when mommy's not looking
Squeezing my chub rolls to make me giggle
Calling me your girl
Always taking me outside to play
Giving me a bath every night
Kissing my cheeks and begging me for "sugars"
Making silly noises
Saying my prayers at night
Letting mommy dress me :)
Thank you for Loving Me.

Saturday Morning Scene

Saturday Morning Scene
Today I am linking up with Katie at Loves of Life to share my saturday morning. We have a busy day ahead of us today (car shopping..ugh) so we have to get up extra early to get our run in. Isabelle is waking up with her buddy Spike and a little Mickey Mouse Clubhouse while her dad and I get dressed for our morning run. The morning time is about the only time she likes to cuddle..this is also the time that her dad and I fight the most over who gets to hold her.
I promise I didn't stage this. My kid and dog are just THAT cute. Plus, I'm not THAT good.
What are your saturday plans? I betcha they're more fun than car shopping.

Clickity, Clack...Time to craft.

Well, I guess Mr. T caught the crafting bug as well. Last night he showed me a little project he had been working on for our pups. A few weeks ago we were at our local flea market (his nightmare) when I came across some cute cots for dogs. Our dogs are both big boys and they both love to play outside all day and then come inside during the evenings. (Our other dog Luke is a lab. Lab=TONS of hair. Spike is a goldendoodle. Goldendoodle=tiny bit of hair. +1 Spike, -100 Luke). They sleep on these huge pillows that we call their "beds". They love them, but the pillows make a high school locker room full of sweaty pre-pubescent football players burning hair, smell good. It's awful. So when I saw these cute cots that are comfortable, therapeutic, and "eco friendly" for dogs, I knew we just HAD to have one. (I'm pretty sure people use the word eco friendly just to sell things. Since when did dog beds become such a pollutant to the environment?) We were about to buy one when gasp they were $150 bucks! Okay, I LOOOOVE my dogs and I LOOOVE a clean smelling house. But, I am entirely too "frugal" to pay that for my dogs when they are perfectly happy in their smelly, un-therapeutic, pollutant of a bed. Mr. T. was also surprised because he saw how the beds were made and knew he could make one for a fraction of the cost. So he got his craft on and made this in about 2 hrs.

Luke lovin his new bed.
Spike loves it too.
Now, I am generally not a fan of zebra print (really random that Mr. T picked that kind of fabric out, all by himself) but the dogs really like it. Now when I tell them to get on their beds, I tell them to get on their "sexy beds". They understand. I think they look so cute on them. It looks like they finally have a little bachelor pad bed.

I am also starting my crafting project. The same day we were at the flea market, I also found a cute little chair perfect for Isabelle to sit in when we're outside. The paint was a little chipped off, but the chair was in perfect condition. I decided to brighten it up and spray paint it bright yellow (hide yo kids, hide yo wife, I'm a mess with spray paint. Just ask the grass and the side of the shed..sorry Mr. T). and then mod podge the seat from an idea I got here. I forgot to take a picture of the chair before I spray painted it, but there's a picture of it with Isabelle sitting in it from my previous post. Here is a picture I took after a few coats of spray paint.
I will post an after tomorrow so check back in. I know you're on pins and needles (I don't know what that even means).

Summa time and the livin's (not so) easy

The weather here in Oklahoma is pretty warm this time of year. Yesterday, it was 98 at 12:00pm with about 100% humidity...or at least that's what my frizzy hair and shiny face were screaming. The night before we had some pretty hard storms come through which made for a cooler morning than normal and left me without any excuses on why I shouldn't get out and get my run in before my two sleeping beauties woke up. I am watching a friends 2 month old baby so I need lots of energy and running seems to help get my blood flowing and really wakes me up (and nothing to do with the giant pot of coffee I chug when I get done). My favorite running buddy (sorry Mr. T) is my goldendoodle, Spike. He's pretty much the cutest dog that has ever lived (I'm not lying, it's a fact. If you don't believe me, then you haven't met him). No matter what he is doing, if he sees me putting on my running shoes he starts whining and running to the door. Yesterday morning was no different. Usually, Spike can run 8 miles and be pulling me as I come scooting sprint in. Today, he made it 3 miles before he was dragging behind. The weather is too hot for him and he just gets too tired! I dropped him off back home and then went a few more miles. After the track workout last night my legs felt like Gumby's legs, but by the end of it they were more like Pokey's legs (isn't that the name of Gumby's horse friend?).

Spike. Don't mind the grass stain on his face. He slid on his head to fetch the tennis ball.
I said he was cute. Not smart.

We spent most of the day in our private, infinity/granite/heated pool (you didn't know Granite came in bright pink?). Isabelle's future boyfriend came over to play and watch her frolic in the pool flexing her six pack abs. She stole helped him with his pacifier and he gazed into her eyes. It was really sweet.

She's trying to impress him with how far she can launch her toys...
he's pretending to not watch and play hard to get. Well played buddy.

All in all, it was a busy day. Between taking care of two babies under 10 months old and 2 dogs, I wasn't able to find the time to make and eat a gourmet meal, unless you consider Quizno's gourmet, then yes, we did eat  gourmet.
My favorite part of the day.....

Daddy pulling weeds while baby eats sticks. Great parenting 101

Reading all of these creative blogs has really got me into crafting and I think a trip to Hobby Lobby AND Michael's is in my near future. I need to find some things to make. Fathers day is right around the corner so I have to teach Isabelle the joy of giving (because that's what good mothers do). She does, after all, have the best daddy in the entire world. Any suggestions on fathers day gifts??

Crazy Joy

Today I am participating in the Crazy Joy challenge that you can read about here. The word of the week is forbidden. The word forbidden means not allowed or permitted. I took this picture of my little lady on the porch eating her snacks while her fur brothers/best friends looked on wishing to share just a crumb.

We spent most of the day outside in the crazy heat. I am not going to complain about how hot it is because I will do plenty of complaining about the weather come January and February, but my goodness it's really early to be this hot! My little lady is quite the outdoorswoman so when we come back inside she immediately throws a fit. She LOVES to be outside. We can be doing the exact same thing outside as we were doing inside, but she will still prefer to be outside. I hate being cooped up so it's nice to hang out in the shade. Being born and raised in Oklahoma, you get used to spending most of your summers in the water or the shade to avoid sweating to death!

Want a bite of my apple?

Who are you kidding? Get your own mooch!
After Mr. T got home, we decided we would go to the track to do a little running workout. Mr. T was so ticked ecstatic to get out in the heat and run what seemed like forever in a circle. We brought Isabelle with us and thankfully she enjoyed most of the run! We try to run about 3-4 days a week and we LOVE that we can take Isabelle with us and she really seems to enjoy herself in her jogging stroller.
That little man in the right hand corner is Mr. T running by us. He does have two legs, I just caught him in a weird angle.
Then after it is all done we get to veg out and catch up on some DVR shows. "The Voice" is on and I am addicted to that show! The singers are amazing and you don't have to sit and watch the less talented singers get ridiculed...plus Blake Shelton is hysterical!

We also have to catch up on the Bachelorette.

Are you watching this season? I am not really loving Ashley so much right now. She seems to be hung up on Bentley (ick) even though he's a jerk. I would love for Chris Harrison to give her the book, "He's just not that into you". She seems to fall for all of his lines! WAKE UP ASHLEY! You can do better! Anyways, off to delete some shows off the DRV (sadly, I feel accomplished when I can do that).

First Blog!

I am new to the blogging world. For a while, I have been reading different blogs out there and I am finally deciding to make my own! I wouldn't say my life is marked by beautiful sunsets, walks on the beach, a baby that never cries and always smiles for pictures,  but it is REAL and to me...it's pretty perfect.

We feel so blessed for me to be able to stay at home for a while with our daughter. I am quickly learning about what being a stay at home mom really means (and that they call themselves SAHM's??). I have worked my entire life, so the idea of staying at home and "hanging out with my daughter in our jammies" sounded like a vacation more than a job! Reality set in, and I quickly learned this is the hardest/most challenging job I have ever done. I have already learned how to soak up a quiet shower daily  when I can, get dressed with only one arm and unload 8 bags of groceries while carrying a baby (that part wasn't in the job description).

I don't have a degree in creative writing nor did I ever enjoy writing papers and correcting grammar. I want to write this more as a journal. A journal that one day my children can read and be embarrased reminded of their childhood and some of the adventures of life! And that is what this blog is really about, my REAL life.My life with my husband, daughter and our two fur babies. Here goes nothing....
